Ann flip flops as much as Rubio and Romney. She gives me whiplash trying to follow her principles.

Oh, I like Coulter well enough. She's still one of the funniest conservative writers out there. And she's usually solid as well on conservative issues.

My point is that nobody has a perfect 100% correct record on conservative issues. Anybody can be wrong on a particular issue.

Which is why although I agree with Trump backers about the importance of fixing the immigration problem and building a wall, I don't trust Trump. His claim to conservative bona fides is pretty thin. His boneheaded and self-serving stance on Kelo vs. Connecticut sets him apart from every other conservative pol as far as I know.

Why Coulter is backing a loose cannon like The Donald while she formerly backed a far more cautious pol like Romney is a mystery to me. And you're probably right...she loves attention.

To add, I still think Romney had the best and least expensive solution to illegal immigration. Just cut off all the freebies, and they will leave or never come in the first place. No EBT cards (Yes they have them, when some of the dreamers have been arrested, they are found with EBT cards in their pockets). No free emergency room visits. No free public school. No anything, let them survive purely on the cash in their pocket. No need to build walls, because the problem will take care of itself. At the least, they will leave the wife, kids, and whole extended family back south of the border. They are who reach deep down into the rest of us’ pocket.

You are right for the most part. My problem with Coulter is if she is given the choice between advancing Conservatism or advancing herself while hurting the cause, she would choose the later every time.

I wonder if this idiot from the Nat’l Review knows exatly WHAT an “assault weapon” is???

True “assault weapons” are already banned for sale except for licensed FFA dealers...

A true “assault weapon is a fully automatic weapon...period...

When she needed to sell her new book about immigration?
I think that is when she changed horses IMO.

No Cooke, the “collective insanity” is always voting for the professional politicians in the monolithic GOP and expecting different results.

I like that Trump is throwing the PC crap out the window but will never vote for him. I can't remember who said it, but they were commenting years ago on a presidential candidate who had (like Trump) recently belonged to the other party. If the town prostitute walked the aisle at church to repent I'd shake her hand and welcome her to the fold, but she shouldn't be leading the choir the next Sunday.

My position for stopping Illegal immigration is clear.

But Ann is so focused, she doesn’t want us discussing Planned Parenthood or Hillary.

It’s quite amazing that Ann and many conservatives, including many on FR, would support a man who is pro-choice, supports funding PP, is for a wealth tax, single-payer, anti-gun, voted and supported Democrats, does not take his supposed Christians faith seriously, and whose wife would be the first first-lady that was a porn star.

I understand the frustration and anger with the GOP and the political class in general. I understand that Trump is a giant middle-finger to that regime, but to actually defend this man as a Conservative is to betray the very things Conservatives stand for. Ann and Hannity should be ashamed of themselves.

Don’t know anything about the porn star charge. Trump has been pro life for a few years, does not support funding PP as long as they perform abortions. I heard his speech at the NRA convention. His sons are big hunters, so He is pro second amendment.
I would not say that he doesn’t take his faith seriously. He was brought up by a devout mother, still attends church regularly and made sure his kids did as well.

As far as supporting Democrats, any businessman in his league is always going to support whomever is in power because of business.

Trump is pro assault weapons ban. You have people on FR who go after Dr. Carson because he holds the exact same position, but Trump gets a free pass. He supports funding only the "good things" that PP does and has been praised by PP for stating this.

On faith:
he only attends church on Easter and Christmas and other major occasions

"When we go in church and I drink the little wine, which is about the only wine I drink, and I eat the little cracker — I guess that’s a form of asking forgiveness,” Mr. Trump said.

Mr. Trump also struggled to answer if he had ever sought forgiveness from God, before reluctantly acknowledging that he had not. “If I do something wrong, I try to do something right,” he said. “I don’t bring God into that picture.”

This is a man who is not serious about his faith.

I agree with Ace

"When conservatives speak of feeling as if they're in the Twilight Zone, as I think Cooke does here (or perhaps Beck does in that piece Allah cites), what they mean, and what I mean, is that conservatives who have previously told me they could never sell out their Sacred Constitutional Principles and support Candidate X due to his one-time heresy on Issue Y are now telling me that It doesn't matter"
