in this state,when I bring recyclables like old wiring in to the recycling store, I MUST show my id and they take down my license plate...no kidding....and this for a few dollars...

Around here people have been stealing copper pipes and wiring, bronze plaques, catalytic converters, etc., and selling to scrap yards. It has become a problem, so I dont mind scrapyards keeping track of who brings in these items. It would seem silly if not for all the theft.
