Word of God guides 'all moral actions of man' [Native Americans eagerly received Christianity]

The first book printed in America was the Bay Psalm Book by John Eliot, who was baptized in England as an infant on Aug. 5, 1604. Called “Apostle to the Indians,” he sailed to America and preached his first sermon in the Algonquian language in 1646.

He translated the Ten Commandments, Lord’s Prayer and the Bible – the first to be printed in America, in 1663. In a 1674 census, 4,000 “Praying Indians” were in 14 self-ruling villages with houses, streets, bridges and their own ministers. “Praying Indian” villages were located throughout Massachusetts, Martha’s Vineyard and Rhode Island.

John Eliot wrote: “The Word of God is the perfect System of Laws to guide all moral actions of man.” In “A Brief Narrative,” July 20, 1670, Eliot wrote: “These Indians being of kin to our Massachusett Indians … received amongst them the light and love of the Truth. … On a day of Fasting and Prayer, Elders were ordained. … The Teacher of the Praying Indians of Nantucket, with a Brother … who made good Confessions of Jesus Christ … did make report that there be about ninety families who pray unto God in that island, so effectual is the Light of the Gospel.”

Contrary to the current narrative of of white Anglo-Saxon protestants raping, pillaging, stealing land, and committing genocide against the hapless native Americans, our Christian forefathers worked closely with the Native Americans to establish commerce and share their faith. In fact many of the Ivy League colleges like Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and Dartmouth started out as Christian Missionary colleges to the Indians, new immigrants, and their countrymen.

There were some instances of discrimination. However, there is plenty of blame on both sides. Cultures that do not value private ownership and personal responsibility have a very difficult time coexisting with ones that do. Did you know that sitting bull became an evangelical Christian?

Yes.

You need to look at what is still going on with the SW tribes. McCain just gave away a large chunk of Apache lands to an Australian mining company. It is all about the Benjamins. NE tribes were not sitting on gold, silver, copper, and other precious metal mother loads.

Ok, but the reality is that none of us have land rights with Eminent Domain. Right? So this is not just a minority issue.

Was not a domain issue, it was for profit. He stuck it in the defense bill in the dead of night to get it passed after trying for years in an open forum.

Of course some eagerly received Christianity. The gospel is powerful. His Word is powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword. The gospel is veiled and foolish to those who are perishing, but to the humble and hopeless sinner who thirsts, it’s the best news he could possibly hear.

In John 10:27, Christ Himself said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” His elect are scattered throughout the earth, including among native Americans. When one of His elect hears the gospel of Christ, which is “the power of God unto salvation” (Romans 1:16), he eventually believes.

“Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power...” (Psalm 110:3)

I guess if you toss out the genocide, we were very nice to the Indians.

Hogwash! The Native American tribes that worked with the Euro-Americans became very successful. The ones would not work with, or wanted to kill, did not do well...

Why are some Indians Poor?

A invades B.

B fights back against A to save their land and gets nearly obliterated.

B is evil and must be exterminated?

Pass the smallpox blankets and let’s party!

Did Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton give you this narrative? You need to ask God why he allowed smallpox. While your at it, ask him why he didn't kill all the Europeans when he had the chance during the Black Plague. And ask him why he gave Canaan to the Israelites. But, here is a more accurate historical logic...

God sends A to colonize the land shared by B.

B is fighting genocidal wars with B

A helps B against other B that are really bad

A brings God to the B

Some B receive God and become like A

Some B hate and want to kill A which only hurts B

Race baiters get B to join their political agenda...party!

God sent the Europeans to give the Indians smallpox?

Did God send the Nazis to set up concentration camps?

Did God send Obama to run America?

God sent the Europeans to give the Indians smallpox?

Did God send the Mongolians to Europe to give them Black Death? Did God send the Spanish to give the world the Spanish Flu? Only He knows. Did God allow the Europeans to bring Smallpox? Yes. Interesting though, Massosoit told Squanto that had Smallpox not ravaged his nation, they would have fought and killed the English Settlers.

Did God send the Nazis to set up concentration camps?

Many Germans voted for the NAZIs. God allowed it.

Did God send Obama to run America?

Many Americans voted for Obama. God is allowing him to continue destroying America. But what do you expect from a Nation that harvests babies and allows Pederasty?

If it’s God’s will to have Obama in charge, we are going against God if we don’t like Obama?

I have always believed God gave us free will.

I have never believed that when a man murders, it is God’s will. I know that this puts me in opposition to your beliefs.

No, you are incorrect. You are making a straw man of my argument and attacking it.

True Christians did not vote for Obama. False Christians, Idiots, and illegals voted for him. Since they outnumber us, their will has superseded ours. God allowed this because the USA as a nation, has rejected him.

The problem I have with your logic is that anything can be excused as God’s will.

It is the balance between man’s will and God’s sovereignity. Man does not have complete free will. He is bound by time, space, physical, and other boundaries. In Luke 13, people questioned Jesus about the tower that fell. His answer is very insightful. The question is not why do bad things happen. The question is why don’t they happen every single minute of every single day, given how evil the human heart is (Jeremiah 17). Were it not for God’s intervention, we would all be goners...but he is patient, not willing that any should perish.

So, those murders that he doesn’t prevent are more deserving?

I don’t believe he is involved in minutiae.

With most of my family having been murdered, I believe it has been set up for us and what we do with it is in our hands.
