Even though he is literally a "rocket scientist", his childlike fascination with the world around us is profound. He seems to be a good husband, a loving father, a responsible gun owner, and a fine Christian man.
I support him and encourage my fine fellow FReepers to do the same.
Look at some of his other videos... off the top of my head, the videos that were memorable were firing rifles under water, the guy that can shoot an aspirin tablet thrown into the air... with a bow and arrow, the mythbuster type Coriolis forces demonstration done by Destin and his vlogger buddy in Australia, the "lightpainting" and superslowmotion work with remote control helicopters, and especially touching was the video he made after his last child was born regarding how the heart of a baby physically changes at birth.
It's all good stuff... there are well over 100 videos.
You may also enjoy this perspective piece he wrote around that same time, about the complicated thoughts of being a new father:
The Unspoken Selfish Fear of Fatherhood.
Destin's alright in my book... he would definitely be someone I would want to associate with in everyday life, and I honestly don't think I can say that about many people.
You are one of my favorite people on this site so if you give this guy the ok, then he’s ok in my book. As long as he doesn’t hurt cats.
I didn’t see the video because I was afraid the cat might get sick or something. Yet cats are always barfing up hair balls and food. And they are fine right after.
Thank You!
Haven’t brought myself to watch the “Spider vs. Penis” episode yet (yes, you read that right). Reading the comments and watching Destin’s lead-in... Not sure I need to be THAT educated. ;-)
All-in-all, very personable, humorous, entertaining and very educational. This guy is very good.
