However, it won't be so easy for rival Lions to take over Cecil's pride...

RE: say What?
What to say? That’s what Lions do...
To: SeekAndFind
Grizzly bears do the same thing. Lions are not endangered and kill well over a thousand Africans each year. Poor Cecil.

Cecil the Lion's death has probably already resulted in all of his cubs being killed by rival Lion empowerment of oppressed minority cubs

Since Cecil was killed on 1 July already, Rodrigues says that the chances are good that this terrible fate has already befallen the cubs, but that there was nothing any conservation organisation could do, as letting nature run its course was the most humane option.
BOZO of the highest order.

Cecil, of course, never practiced infanticide because he is, was, a charter member of Planned Parenthood.

Hannibal Lechter’s long lost daughter... I am unhappy with Cecil, it is sad, but humans are more important. Full term babies being ‘harvested’ for ‘parts’ is MURDER.

This is natures way to guarantee more genetic diversity. When an alpha male lives too long, there is more inbreeding leading to weaker offspring. The new alpha males will kill the cubs in order to mate with the females as quickly as possible. This even occurs with feral cats in the wild. The new alpha male instinctively knows that the females will not go into heat if they have cubs, so he kills the cubs and problem solved. Its a jungle out there.

When a new male lion takes control of a pride, he kills all the cubs of the previous lion in order to bring the female lions back into estrus. So he can mate with them and spread his genes. It’s the reason we are all here.

Funny, I did not think of that silly cartoon. Reality bites.

Lion meat is food. The inedible parts of the lion are trophies. When lions are not food, they are roadkill, or die cruel and violent deaths by another pride just like the zebras they consume. Once everyone knows that, they can understand this...

I don't understand all the sympathy for Cecil from the left.
After-all he was the ultimate Alpha Male.
