Donald Trump remembers exactly when he realized his father was beginning to fade. About six years ago, they were driving down Fifth Avenue when he gave his father big news: he had just bought the land beneath the Empire State Building. ''That's a tall building, isn't it?'' Fred C. Trump replied. ''How many apartments are in that building?'' At first, Donald thought he was kidding. But his father, 87, was developing Alzheimer's.
Fred Trump died last June in Queens, at 93. Donald had visited him in the hospital that night and got the call later when he was by himself, high up in Trump Tower. He cried. It was the saddest day of his life, he says.
The son, now considering a run for the presidency, likes to present himself as a self-made man. But how much of him did his father make? Long before young Trump was putting up glass-and-bronze curtain walls on Fifth Avenue and selling apartments for $38 million, his father was putting bird cages in lobbies to dress up Queens apartment houses -- and releasing balloons on Coney Island at the height of summer with coupons inside for $50 off on a $4,990 Trump home.

We’ve been digging. Because Trump has been well known for a period of time there are some very flattering articles out there. Family has been featured in most major magazines, but some of the best IMO is the material linked to his personal web page. Take Sims time to watch the videos and hit the many tabs. There is also a tour through jet and the penthouse. Gold fixtures and all. With all the luxury he still expected his kids to do their chores, exhibit good manners, and stay away from drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. He does not smoke or drink alcohol or coffee. Sets an example for children and staff. A Freeper who has known him for years says he is a devoted father/family man.
Read link at 3 and 8 and then check out trumps link
CJ points out another tie between Palin and Trump people may want to know. It’s a cool story regardless.
Thought you might enjoy the story at 8 as well as original post link at 3
Would love to see the video of the penthouse, but I found no link to it on the site. Thanks for posting this.

Oh, wait. I found it on bing, under Donald and Malanea Trump residence.
OPULENT! I thought the place stunning. The comments following the photos were awful. “Bad taste” opinions abounded. But, I loved it, and I enjoy that period of heavy, opulent furnishings, and these pieces were shown off in airy settings.
A great video for me to see. THANK YOU!
Sorry link isn’t live and its just pictures.
Yes! Thanks for your trouble!
Yes, you’re right but I pause videos incessantly, especially of homes, so I am happy with the photos. :)
I’m sure these photos show the splendor offered to guests for entertaining, but it is just as likely there is an off camera area for Donald and his wife to vegetate and eat peanut butter if they choose, where it’s more normal-casual and much more comfortable to let go, where you can relax in your socks and cold cream. lol.
Will you post the link here please. ?
Thanks Agnes !

It was the same link you sent me, at #47. Your link was not “live”, but it was the exact one that bing.com had listed among it’s selections and that I viewed.
PS: Sorry, I haven’t figured out how to post anything on this new Windows 8 desktop. A nightmare.
Thanks again to Agnes. This one is old. Long but very informative

Am having same trouble with new tablet. Cell is too small to post most
My family’s roots are Swedish and Irish. I grew up in the South. My Grandmother had to raise her children alone, also. My dad was oldest and he helped raise the family and didn’t marry my mom until he was 27. My Grandmother lived with us until she passed away at 97. I still have treasures that she and I quilted and crocheted together.
Learning to garden was a necessity then and a pleasure now.
The best times were when the family all got together. There is not enough of that anymore. Good for you for passing on those values. They are worth more than silver and gold.
LOL...I’m watching now, and just had to stop at the minute mark...to post this...
From Trump’s eldest son, Eric, on what it’s like to have the *privilege* work with/for his dad....”I know what it’s like to be here, you basically have him (dad/Trump) always saying, I’ll fire you like a dog if I don’t think you love what you do, or if I don’t think you’re doing a good job....”.
THAT ^^ just cracked me up. Reminded me of what Trump said about Romney, “He choked, he choked like a dog!”.
It’s a great reinforcement of why work ethic matters. And, how working for what your dad/family has worked their butts off for, is an important and significant thing....not to be taken lightly, or for granted. Trump has done a wonderful job of instilling that premise, in his children.
Ooops....*(stopped at) the 7:15 minute mark.
Just finished the entire thing. Last part talks about how the empire will be divided when he’s gone. Guess his presidency would be a deal test/practice for the three older one. Am sure he will also note how they include Tiffany and Barron ska Barry
Interesting story of why he is named after Barron Hilton [Paris ancestor) Ill have to see if I can find it again.
