Donald Trump remembers exactly when he realized his father was beginning to fade. About six years ago, they were driving down Fifth Avenue when he gave his father big news: he had just bought the land beneath the Empire State Building. ''That's a tall building, isn't it?'' Fred C. Trump replied. ''How many apartments are in that building?'' At first, Donald thought he was kidding. But his father, 87, was developing Alzheimer's.
Fred Trump died last June in Queens, at 93. Donald had visited him in the hospital that night and got the call later when he was by himself, high up in Trump Tower. He cried. It was the saddest day of his life, he says.
The son, now considering a run for the presidency, likes to present himself as a self-made man. But how much of him did his father make? Long before young Trump was putting up glass-and-bronze curtain walls on Fifth Avenue and selling apartments for $38 million, his father was putting bird cages in lobbies to dress up Queens apartment houses -- and releasing balloons on Coney Island at the height of summer with coupons inside for $50 off on a $4,990 Trump home.

I have purposly avoided tabloid. These are plenty. But have tried to vet into the REAL Donald Trump.
One thing that has tweeted curiosity was comment made by Hollywood PAC founder re Military school. “Three session. I COUKD NEVER HAVE SURVIVED IT. Might be a good interview

I found the article fascinating, as I spent 20 years designing, constructing and managing large office buildings for a very large financial corporation.
I know what it takes to be a success in Trump’s field, although he far eclipses me in his accomplishments.
The basic elements are the same.
What I liked about Fred Trump was his insistence that his contractors get their bills in to him by the 20th of the month, so they can be paid by the 30th, then they could pay their subs or get a discount on materials from their suppliers early in the following month.
We had a 30 day pay policy. It was in our contracts. To get very large checks cut in this corporation was a bureaucratic nightmare, but I always paid my contractors on time—never late.
On change orders, sometimes they would miscalculate and short themselves. I would draw a line through their number, correct the calculations and increase the amount to the correct one.
They were amazed. They said no one ever did that. I said we don’t cheat you here at _________________. I am honest with you, you be honest with me.If I cheat you on the change order and you find out, you will cheat me on something else. Let’s not play that game.
I was able to get all kinds of projects done on time and under budget. My contractors always wanted to work my jobs, because my jobs were safe, and they were treated fairly.
In this business, your word becomes your reputation.
That is why Donald insists on being treated “fairly”. It means something in his world.
Fred Trump gave a lot to Donald—most importantly his work ethic and reputation for good work.
And Donald has built an empire on that—an amazing accomplishment.
And you know what?
I don’t tire of hearing him say “amazing” fantastic” unbelievable” wonderful”—because I haven’t heard a President speak like that in almost 30 years.

I agree about the positive hype. We have been so knocked down. It will take a lot of positive imagery to get we the people to believe in themselves again

It was one of the stories on this thread that gave me the impression that Trump had no use for society hoppers, blue bloods or others who considered themselves elitist (that would include the Bush. They didn’t accept his new money he responded in kind.
Have tried to not post the tabloids but did read many determining what should be included. It may have been in one of those articles
