Actress Valerie Harper, known for her roles in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and the spin-off “Rhoda,” was reportedly hospitalized Wednesday evening after being found unconscious backstage prior to a performance of her musical “Nice Work If You Can Get It” at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Ogunquit, Maine.
Harper suffered a “health emergency” prior to the show and was taken away by ambulance, according to Entertainment Tonight.

She was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in early 2013. If I remember correctly, at the time of the diagnosis, she was only given a few months to live. She was determined to carry on, and has continued with her career. She seemed to be enjoying a good quality of life despite the bleak prognosis. Hopefully this is a temporary setback for her.

Released, I’m glad to hear this, when she “conquered” her brain cancer, I did in fact, post a story on her. She has among other things I’m sure, Irish in her background though she played a Jew on TV, I think she may have gotten away from her faith but perhaps has now come back.
Your inforamtion may be premature. Local Portland Maine News is reporting that she is still in the hospital.

OGUNQUIT, Maine (AP) - The Ogunquit Playhouse says actress Valerie Harper has been hospitalized after falling ill before a performance.
Playhouse officials said Harper, who has battled cancer, was taken to a local hospital Wednesday before the evening performance of “Nice Work If You Can Get It.”
A statement Thursday said she’s “resting comfortably and will remain in the hospital for observation for the time being.”
They reported the same on the evening news noting that there are conflicting reports.
The 7 pm news magazine show “207” will have a segment with Valarie and Sally that was taped on Tuesday.

WCSH reported tonight that she is been medivaced to a larger hospital. No one seems to know what hospital. They also reported that she was found unconcious on Wed evening at the theater.
