Flat or falling prices?
What!!!
Whatever he’s taking I want some.
Teenage grandson went to the store with me this last weekend. His comment, “Well, looks like we can afford to buy bacon for breakfast now but can’t afford the eggs to go with it. Is it always like this?”
“For American consumers who have become used to flat or even falling prices for several years”
They’ve been spouting this BS for years (ever since Obama’s election, in fact); food prices have been consistently climbing the whole time, and we get a new excuse each year (usually weather). One of the reasons the economy is in the crapper is because necessities have eaten up so many peoples’ discretionary dollars, and the government keeps understating inflation to screw those receiving government payments (Social Security, welfare, etc.). I believe this plays a key role in the discontent of our unassimilated permanent underclass (they’ve basically gotten a “welfare pay cut”), and when governments (all the way up to the president) are pushing for minimum wage increases they are acknowledging price increases all along.
