The prime point is: Can Win10 escape “the dark side” of Win 3.1, Vista, 8, 8point1, into “the light side” (sunny side) of NT, 2000, XP & 7?
The underlying OS is quite good, it’s the crappy human interface that has been killing 8 and 8.1. But there is a very simple fix:
Just install “Classic Shell” and Win 8.1 turns into Win 7. After six months, it’s been exceptionally stable, and I never see the useless Metro interface.
What that I need to do can only be done with W10?
