No, but many towns will rubber-stamp concealed-carry permits without fuss, while in others (Boston for example) you literally cannot get a permit to save your life...There are definitely enough people carrying in MA (paired with pervasive A-hole attitudes) that I wouldn't recommend leaping out of a pickup truck in plain-clothes (at night) and threatening to kill someone. How on earth was the guy supposed to recognize that the detective was a cop, and not just some angry drunk?
Getting this detective behind a desk for the rest of his career would honestly be the safest thing for the citizens AND the cop.

Ending his career and putting him behind bars would be the safest thing for the citizens. Is it even legal for him to use his personal vehicle to chase someone down and cut that person off like that? I know I sure as heck wouldn’t have stopped. I would have gotten out of there as fast as I could and called 911 with my cell to tell them that some crazy person with road rage is chasing me.
