Hwy 371
But when it pours, man it pours.
In a 48-hour period ending at 7 p.m. Sunday, automated gauges collected 4.10 inches of rain in Ramona, 2.69 inches on Volcan Mountain, 2.39 inches in Kearny Mesa, 2.33 inches at Montgomery Field and 2.09 inches on Palomar Mountain.

And the news article says a 1/4 inch and SD and LA are record rainfall! lol
The ground here is hard pan...takes a long time for it to soak up the water...
IOW, flash flooding is the norm even with a couple of tenths of an inch of rain in a short amount of time...
Not discounting the burned areas of hillsides and mountains that have no vegetation to prevent mudslides...
It may be a joke to folks back East or in the NW, but in the desert areas like NV, AZ, NM, CA, etc., it can be a matter of life or death...
I know. Didn’t really mean to make light of it. Had a poster on here from CA say they saw a small tornado out there and they thought it was cool. Had to admonish him that tornados are definitely not cool. So point taken.
I recall a MC trip I took out west, where there were signs posted at dry beds about flash floods and warning people not to venture into water that normally isn’t there.
I’ve actually been receiving FF alerts here in Indy all summer it seems like.
Now if there was some way the Kalifornia s could capture and save all that water.
Understood, didn’t mean to come across too hard.
Just trying to put things in perspective.
And yeah, much of the water will end up in the ocean...sigh.
How long before the demorat voters in Calif. realize that their liberal logic is a horrendous failure. Crammed up public schools, hospitals over run with non-paying illegal aliens, and on and on? When will Californians change their mindset?
