Me, too. Loud unmuffled lawn mowers; loud guns; loud rock concerts; setting off entire rolls of caps with a hammer; loud power plant work; loud factories; loud machine shops; loud CANAM car races. Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart really rings true...and rings and rings and rings.
Drag races, mowing lawns, shooting guns, ZZ Top x 4, Van Halen x 3, RATT, Motley Crue, Poison, Billy Squire, etc.
I had a .22 shell casing separate and misfire, blowing up next to my ear when I was 18 that left me half-deaf for three days, and I was scared to tell my parents about it, so I didn’t mention it to them. Worked in commercial kitchens for 15 years, too. I have a ton of frequencies that I just plain don’t hear, and have loud ringing all the time. Firecrackers, whole rolls of caps, gunpowder, C02 bombs, other kinds of exploratory bombs, plenty of shotguns, etc.
Still love loud music and engines and explosions, but I use protection now, for what little good it will do me.
