Yeah 200 bucks is worth less than ten was worth when I was a kid. I recall when with 200 you could take one heck of a nice vacation and people supported families on less than 200 a MONTH! No, I’m not a hundred years old, I was born in ‘44. That’s how much things have changed. When I started first grade you could buy a brand new Ford for just over 1000. A very nice small farm (50to75acres) with a livable house, outbuildings etc. could be had in this area for 3000. My electric bill is an amount that would have been a well above average income then.

Yep. My take home pay, from my first job in 1975, was $500/month. Half of that went to my rent and my underground parking space in Chicago. I lived on $250/month.......paying all my bills and food and entertainment (not much of that!). I wish salaries would catch up with payout costs.
