Surfers are really territorial. When my son was a young teenager, he was harassed while surfing at Zuma. He was just learning to surf and some of the older surfers would intentionally cut right in front of him. Surfers are not necessarily the laid back, mellow people that are portrayed in the movies. They can be really aggressive and dangerous. Public beaches are just that......for the PUBLIC!

I live there, and it does happen. However, what the Slimes fails to report is how the outsiders trash the place when they come to fish/surf. The fisherman are the worst.
