After it came out that members of the military were specifically targeted for terror attacks, Sgt Mr. niteowl77 Jr said that any E-6 or over should be given the option of carrying a sidearm. I don't know his reasoning, but I tend to think he is correct.

I don't know his reasoning, but I tend to think he is correct. All of our service members should as me or you have the GOD given right to protect themselves and family from harm. If they don't have the common sense and discipline to know how to handle a sidearm and when and where to use it then they have no business being in the armed forces to start with. At least two in any smaller place like a recruiting office should be armed. At FT Hood all E-6 and above should have been armed.
