UW strong arms and essentially extorts money from local businesses. And it uses the local government as one of its enforcers.
And then the pressured businesses politely force employees to contribute. Gotta get that 100% employee participation. What cause is so noble that it consistently gets 100% of people to contribute?
You like a charity or cause? Don’t give the money to UW to distribute, give it directly to them yourself.

Also to mention how the local UW bigwigs find creative ways to skim some of that money off for themselves. Your Mileage May Vary as to how much that goes on where you live at, but it was known to happen in my area. Never an investigation or arrest. Too many of the players playing footsie for that to happen.

Dont give the money to UW to distribute, give it directly to them yourself.Absolutely...and if that is too much trouble, give at your church where at least the entire thing is more manageable as to whose hands the money ultimately ends up in and what the costs are to get it there. What this story has done for me is prompt the preparation of a concise speech that I'll have at the ready the next time that anyone wants me to donate to the UW.
