The Republicans had 10 Years to Stop Trump; now it's too late (vanity)

The only reason that Trump is leading the pack is because the Republican Party will not lift a finger to stop what is (correctly) perceived as a foreign invasion that is quickly transforming this country into a Third World Cesspool. This started at least a decade ago when Bush-43 began his Amnesty efforts and has not still not stopped.

The invasion is very convenient for those involved, as it has the potential to bring millions of new voters for the Democrats (as their brainwashed union-voters get old and die) and millions of new, low-wage and reliable workers to Republican business leaders.

It was the perfect combination for the leaders of both parties. But just one problem: The country did not want it! And not just Republicans, but Democrat voters too. So what did the parties do? The Democrats stuck with the transformation, figuring that political power was much more important than the security of the country (nothing at all new there). Republican leaders, even though they were looking down the barrel of being driven from power for decades, if not generations, still salivated over the fact that there was big money to be made from these new workers. Not only were they good, they helped drive-down wages for the entire low-end of the labor force, helping US businesses be competitive with foreign, low-wage countries.

Democrat voters, these days, while still not crazy about the country being transformed, seem willing to accept it as the price of driving the Republicans (or Christians, as they really see us) from power. But Republican voters have only gotten angrier and angrier. They see no benefit in a few rich fat-cats getting even richer, while they see their beloved country disintegrating right before their eyes. And since Republican voters generally have kids, they are scared to death for those kids and grandchildren, something that Democrat voters don't have to deal with (ok, a few Democrats may have made the 'mistake' of having kids, as they see it).

But even given that the Republican voter anger at Open Borders is boiling over, Republican leaders simply laughed at them, figuring that the only reason Republican voters were complaining was because of Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, and other conservative media egging them on. So they ignored us...and ignored us...and ignored us, as we didn’t represent the real Republican base. Republican victories in 2010 and 2014 helped cement this view – how could we Republicans do so well if we weren’t addressing their concerns? I’ve always said that Republican leaders a lot dumber than Democrat leaders, and this is certainly one example – obviously the 2010 and 2014 Midterm votes were a anti-Democrat vote – Republicans would have voted for a horse if he was up against a Democrat in those years.

Which brings us to today. Rush's initial reaction to Trump was that he was snake oil salesman, given his history of playing both sides – he was rightly suspicious. But Republican voters are tired of waiting for the second coming of Reagan and will take anyone that has the willingness and the capability to address Open Borders. Trump fits that bill, clearly having the money to get his word out, over the media, and saying what we want to hear. My point here is that Republicans were ahead of Rush on Trump...their support for Trump has nothing at all to do with being "egged on" by Rush, Fox, Beck or anyone else. On this issue, at least, the support is real.

So now what? The initial reaction of the Republican leaders had first been to try to ignore Trump, but that was impossible because the Democrats and the media didn't go along with them - they seemed to think that Americans just love Open Borders, and so Trump was making a total fool of himself (and the party) - so they would amplify it. Huge mistake on their part. Also, with the Republican leaders (and almost all of our candidates) being totally transfixed by their multi-million dollar efforts to increase our share of the Hispanic vote from 27% in 2012 to 27.01% in 2016 - they were horrified by the thought of having someone out there publicly having a problem with Open Borders and the killings of Americans by Illegals, so they stepped up to the task of trying to destroy him. Needless to say, they instead stepped into it. Instead of crushing him, they amplified his message (as if that were needed) and helped drive him into the lead.

But not all of them stepped into it. Cruz, I suspect, quickly figured out that Trump (or at least what he represents) is not going away that easily, now that the genie is out of the bottle on this issue. If Trump is drummed out of the Republican Party, say in favor of Jeb being the candidate, then Trump runs as a Third Party candidate and virtually assures that Jeb loses in November (and there is a very good chance Trump could win in a three-way race). If Trump doesn't run Third Party against Bush, then someone else will - maybe Tom Tancredo, for example, because even proponents of serious border security have to be floored by just how important the issue is for voters - everything they've heard prior from their ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way) kept saying that Americans have tantrums over the border, but quickly get over it - and that, for example, the issue of adjusting the formula for food stamp benefits in counties with a Native American population of between 7.28% and 12.65% of the total population is much more important to them and can be carried all the way to November. This border stuff...just a few blowhards on the radio, and that can't last.

So what happens now will be totally different from 2008, or 2012. If an Open Borders type is nominated (aka, Jeb) or someone that seems to take multiple sides of the issue (Romney, Walker), there will be a Third Party challenge - it may be Trump, it may be Buchanan, it may be Tancredo, but it will be someone and they will get a lot of votes, virtually assuring the defeat of the Republican. But if Cruz, Trump, or someone else trusted on border security runs as the Republican (although I can't think of any others), then it may well be a 2-person race, and the Republican candidate may well get a huge turnout from Republican voters and even a lot of crossover voters, as there are millions of Democrat types that would also like to see some sort border security.

This will be fun.

Something I posted a year ago:

Immigration reform is about greed.

Immigration reform is about money.

Immigration reform is about supply and demand.

Increase the supply of labor and demand falls, wages fall, your wages fall.

Ask yourself why the government CHOOSES to not enforce immigration law?

The political donor class and the employer class hold the reins of the government through how the political parties are funded. These are the people who are demanding the government ignore parts of immigration law.

Why?

Greed, plain and simple.

Increase the labor supply and the amount you have to pay people goes down, and you no longer need to treat them very well, because there are MILLIONS of hungry fearful people who will put up with it because the supply of jobs shrinks relative the number of people looking for work.

Thats a ‘win win’ for the employer class and the political donor class.

Once again the middle class is being squeezed for the benefit of the few, follow the money.

Any politician who pushes immigration reform without demanding the laws on the books be enforced is an enemy of your future, an enemy of your childs future.

Those politicians are doing the work of the employer class and the political donor class, society and culture be damned.

Dare to speak against them and you will be labeled ‘racist’ by the media, a media controlled by the employer class and the political donor class.

The government no longer is about public service, it is about the money.

When the government is free to select which laws to enforce, with the blessing of the courts your freedom vanishes.

And there is no one to vote for who could/would fix it, from either party.

We are so screwed.

It is not just immigration that is the problem with the gop. It is their inability to do anything. They refuse to stop the out of control spending. They have done nothing about the criminal activities at the IRS, DOJ, EPA, and the State Department. All these agencies should have had people put in jail by now.

The GOP has lost any bit of integrity. I mean guns killing Mexicans, Private email accounts, collusion between the DOJ, EPA, IRS to target conservatives.

It looks to anyone that our government is full of criminals.

Not to mention the destruction of our freedoms.

Both parties need to be cleaned out of the parasites that now infest them. Trump is a outsider and people see this.

You are right, the rest of the world (7 billion people) is much larger than Mexico.
We have to talk about our right to exist as a nation and not as some globalist experiment that we cannot extricate ourselves out of. It is easy to invite people into our country but you can’t get them out it things do not work out peacefully.

WE have to get the liberal stardust out of our eyes. We have all been infected with liberalism even *conservatism* and conservative clergy. People usually do not get along well as deferent groups living in the same country. Not in the long run. Look at what has happened between blacks and whites. It is never going to be solved. The best we can do is manage the problem as best we can. We do not want a three way, four way or five way fight going on for the rest of history. It is bad enough that we have had to deal with a two way fight between blacks and whites. The more other groups enter our country, the more friction and competition there will be between the groups. Just give it time.

Real Christians do not believe that America is the millennium. We are far from perfect and we do not have Jesus Christ as our leader in the flesh. God’s perfection will only happen when Christ comes back. Meanwhile people will be feuding and fighting they way they always have. Keep the squalling kids separated, that is what works.

As far as I can tell, no one has done anything constructive since President Eisenhower.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

I can only hope that Cruz hires this author to help lead his campaign. Yes, he really *gets it*, 100%! Bob

Illegal aliens have taken over good paying blue color jobs in the building industries and factory jobs as well. We cannot afford to throw Americans under the bus. We have to stand strong and unified as Americans.

And his wife or girlfriend is receiving welfare benefits as a *single mom*. The welfare department is controlled by the Dems in Washington and they do not give a crap about the money that is being wasted.

Excellent! And consider that the RINOs they ran for president would have had more support from conservatives IF THE CONGRESS HAD DONE ANYTHING FOR CONSERVATIVES!
If we had any confidence in the congress to look out for us we’d have been more willing to support even a Romney- IF we had confidence the congress would hold him back from extremes.

But, of course, the situation was just the opposite- and, as you say, will be so in 2016.
The ‘moderate’ GOP establishment is, and has been, cutting their own throat and thinking how smart they are.

Did McCain’s ‘need’ for a border fence end that day.

Exactly!

McCain when right when needing votes. He is a dishonorable POS.

I am very excited that Trump is talking about issues that matter to Americans. The Washington crowd doesn’t appear to have any common-sense. Donald does.

Thanks, I’m pretty good at putting together words on paper (or computer), not as good at speaking them.

In this case, it started dawning on me that the best way to have kept Trump out was have addressed this issue when people were screaming about (i.e., when Bush-43 was President), but they did not. Then I started thinking about November, and how everything has now changed. Open Borders had been the “crazy aunt” issue that the Republicans kept up in the attic. But now it is not - it is now ok to talk about it in mixed company and that is a huge deal.

Rush I love ya buddy, but you are no longer on the cutting edge of Societal Evolution.

It is not my job to carry his water, but I have been listening to Jeff Kuhner out of WRKO out of Boston. His numbers are off the chain, They cancelled Rush and put Jeff in his timeslot and will syndicate him very soon.

IMHO he is gonna give Rush a heck of a run for his money...

Go here to hear "The Resistance"

No we Conservatives were ahead of them, The Repub's? don't even get me started...

Plenty of time to deal with that. Perhaps Trump just clears the field for Cruz, as he is doing now...that would be fine by me.

they helped drive-down wages for the entire low-end of the labor force, helping US businesses be competitive with foreign, low-wage countries.

The middle and high end have taken a serious shave as well: doctors, lawyers, executives, engineers, managers. Half of college students preparing to take American jobs are now foreign born. The number one factor in hiring now is price rather than quality, a hard value to input into a spreadsheet.

“Trump is all talk...I’ll stick with proven records...Probably Cruz.”

I’ll take Cruz too! But Trump already does have a proven record, at least for someone not in political office. He has forced the Republican candidates to TAKE A SIDE on Open Borders, rather than hide from it as they did in 2008 and 2012, and had planned to do in 2016. Even Hillary had to say (after the focus group results came in, of course) that she had a problem with the woman being murdered in San Francisco. Other than a few re-postings of that (local) killing on this site and a few others, he death would have been in vain, if not for Trump.

He has already turned this race over, and the people running the Republican Party, I suspect, are just waking up to that fact.

A lot more will follow, too. Trump has already unloaded on Bush for his support of Common Core. If he keeps this up, there won’t be a single liberal left in the field.
