There is a YouTube video circulating of two young men in their early twenties. One might be considered a "dweeb", the other is a published mathematician, moreover, he is also an NFL lineman and.....(gasp!) he's black! The video has obviously gained popularity because it goes counter to several stereotypes.
Eisner's comment is simply about another stereotype. A 1953 definition of "stereotype" was "assign preconceived and oversimplified notion of characteristics typical of a person or group".
"Preconceived" has become a perjorative for many writers. Yet, "the adjective is formed from pre, "before," and conceived, which here means "taken into the mind," from the Latin concipere, "to take in and hold"." IOW, something which you have thought about beforehand, reached a conclusion on and filed away for quick reference in the future.
We call this learning about our environment.
Snarling dog with barred fangs, straining at his chain = Danger!
Motorist in car at stop sign, observing dump truck loaded with gravel approaching on the cross street at 50mph = Danger!
Motorist in car at stop sign, observing motorcyclist approaching on the cross street at 50mph = "Whatever - he's much smaller that my car."
Jesse Jackson said a few years ago, There is nothing more painful to me than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.
Two stereotypes here - "footsteps behind" and "he's white - I'm NOT in danger". Jesse Jackson could never be accused of pro-white bias. In this comment, he has simply demonstrated that he has LEARNED from his environment. Likewise, Michael Eisener is in an environment populated with:
Whoopi Goldberg
Bette Middler
Rosie O'Donnell
Ellen DeGeneres
Kathy Griffin
Joan Rivers
Wanda Sykes
Carol Burnett
He has made the observation that "Funny Women usually aren't Beautiful" - probably true, but very, very non-PC!
Goldie Hawn is not beautiful (not that she has to be).
This guy might want to look around a bit. Most people in any profession are not beautiful/handsome. Most are just average looking.
Generally, most liberal comedians aren’t funny.
I think we can rest our case with Lily Tomlin.
She is two pillow case, 12pk, ugly.
He has a point, not just about women, but about funny women and men. It goes to what people see as “funny”:
1) Much humor is physical humor with an element of folly. Think of a nicely dressed, pretty woman. If she walks past a deep mud puddle, there isn’t much humor involved. But if she falls into the mud puddle, it might be funny, though she will no longer be beautiful, but covered in mud.
2) Facial muscles are essential to funny. But beauty is often associated in women as involving facial rigidity. Think of the expressionless Japanese Geisha, an extreme of the idea. Men, however, are permitted to contort their faces to comic effect, without loss of their handsomeness, if they have any.
3) Women also as a rule have a much narrower age range for both acting and comedy. While there are some outliers, older and younger comediennes are much less common.
I wouldnt necessarily say that. I think Cary Grant was an incredibly handsome man I still do. Watching his old movies still makes my heart go all pitter patter ; ).
Gunga Din, Suspicion, North By Northwest, Notorious, To Catch A Thief, An Affair to Remember - he could play very serious roles or the dashing romantic leading man roles or sometimes even a rake, but he was also a comedic genius Bringing Up Baby, Operation Petticoat, Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, I Was a Male War Bride, The Philadelphia Story.
Paging Lucille Ball, Pick up the Disney courtesy phone...
The real problem is Eisner’s comment shouldn’t be taken so seriously.
It’s getting to where you can’t say anything unless it’s approved by Big Government, Big Business, and Big Media.

Pointing out unbelievably attractive funny actors and comedians to disprove a hypothetical rule of thumb for the general population is pretty flawed. But if it has to be the famous route, seems like it way easier to name famous plain people who are only famous because they are funny than unbelievably good looking famous people who are only famous because they are funny.
Freegards
Of course they aren’t. They’re already beautiful.
He is right.
Exhibit#1: Ellen Degeneres
But most people, comedian or not, are not beautiful.
I thought he might be referring to Stand Up Comedians. I just can’t recall any women who did stand up comedy attractive or beautiful at all.
Former Disney CEO Michael Eisner believes women are rarely both funny and beautiful.Speaking with Goldie Hawn at the Aspen Ideas Festival, he said: 'The hardest artist to find is a beautiful, funny woman.'
“Funny men usually aren’t handsome either.”
Exactly! Even just nice, normal looking men aren’t considered funny ... they have to sell themselves harder, i.e., Jimmy Fallon.
Liberalism IS a mental disorder.
And then there are the 99% who are neither funny nor beautiful/handsome... Oh well, life goes on...
