To: The Ghost of FReepers Past

I will tell you as someone who is closely related to a child born out of wedlock - it makes for misery among the mother and father and child. My male relative is harassed for payment by the mother of his child, she stands on the street and shrieks at him, he hauls her into court on a regular basis and God knows how the poor kid feels - he’s too afraid to confide in me. Marriage is a boon to babies. It provides a solid foundation on which to build a good citizen.

Your male relative has an obligation to support the child. Too bad he puts her in the situation where she feels that desperate for paternal support.

Babies are best with their natural parents, even if that means only one. Second choice is married male-female families. This day and age adoption could mean a real disaster for the child.
