You give Rove too much of the benefit of the doubt. Here was his exact response to Chris Wallace in the interview ...

Now maybe there’s some magic law that will keep us from having more of these. I mean basically the only way to guarantee that we will dramatically reduce acts of violence involving guns is to basically remove guns from society, and until somebody gets enough “oomph” to repeal the Second Amendment, that’s not going to happen.

This is a guy who would support the repeal of the 2nd Amendment and only wishes he had enough "oomph" to do so.

Or at least an Article V Convention to kickstart the process...

Stating that A is necessary for B to happen is not necessarily saying that you are in favor of A.

If I note that the only way to largely eliminate gun violence is to get rid of guns, I’m stating a fact.

Do you disagree? Or do you have a magical method by which we can have guns widely available yet prevent bad people from misusing them?

BTW, I’m not a fan of Rove, and I think what he said was poorly worded. But he’s simply not calling for repeal of the 2nd Amendment.

BTW, campaigning for amendment of the Constitution is a perfectly American thing to do. The Founders provided for it.

What is unAmerican is to ignore or reinterpret out of existence the plain meaning of the Constitution.
