Not going to click on Business Insider. Having said that, the problem is not one of quality, but of price. Obama’s economy makes it hard to buy all the things people could buy when they had full-time jobs.

“Obama’s economy makes it hard to buy all the things people could buy when they had full-time jobs.”

The average household income has been declining for 20 years. Almost all of the new jobs created since 2008 have been part time with no benefits. Despite the government continuously reporting negligible inflation food, energy, housing, college education, and health care costs have been escalating at high single digit annual increases. Middle class people are squeezed and are stretching their clothing purchases and now purchase recycled clothing in alternative outlets such as Goodwill Stores, Salvation Army Stores, flea markets, garage sales and consignment shops.

Perhaps some of the Business Insider reporters and economists should take a trip out of Manhattan to middle America and observe where what is left of the middle class is shopping.
