As a New Yorker, I have “known” Trump since 1972 - ever since he took my best college friend to Maxwell’s Plum on a date. She thought he was stupid but that’s because she was an art major and he’s notoriously not into culture. One of the reasons he dumped Ivana, btw.

He calls everyone pathetic and that’s just his way. I’ve heard “pathetic” used from Hugh Carey to Ed Koch to Rosie O’Donnell to Hillary. Nothing wrong with that but I’d prefer he get specific on that skank.

I'm glad your artsy friend didn't like him, I don't particularly like him either and I'm not exactly artsy, more of a business guy.

What he said was a perfect rejoinder. She was pathetic in using his statements as some kind of reason for the Charleston shootings.

It was a perfect thing to say, and will resonate throughout the US headlines whether you like it or not.

Well done Trump.

Is it a New York thing to need to constantly affirm yourself, declare how successful or how smart you are or what you have done. I.E. be a braggart?

It smacks of insecurity. Why does anyone with nearly 9 billion of anything need to behave so insecurely?
