Importantly, Harvard is actually two schools. Harvard law and Harvard college. The law school has the reputation. Harvard college is kind of “meh” academically, but its graduates try very hard to muddy the distinction between the two schools.

I’ve even met an arrogant cardiologist who frequently bragged that he got his medical degree at Harvard. Finally I put him on notice by saying, “Oh, you got a law degree at Harvard law, or *just* a medical degree at Harvard college?”

He tried to equate the two, so I said, “Well, I won’t hold it against you. I’m sure Howard (a traditionally black college) graduates competent medical doctors as well.”

We never spoke again.

HLS and Harvard College are both part of Harvard University. The arrogant doctor that you mentioned would not have gotten his M.D. from HLS or Harvard College, but Harvard Medical School which too is one of Harvard University’s schools.
You are rather confused to think that a medical doctor could have gotten an M.D. form HC.

Furthermore your assessment of Harvard College is way off. Undoubtedly it is thoroughly infused with PC and progressive nonsense, but so is just about every other college. It is as highly rated as it could possibly be.
I can understand why the doc never spoke to you again.
