Disagree...Look up the numbers. Kids with stable 2 parent households are much more likely to eschew drugs and crime. And single parent households are the number 1 predictor of poverty in America

Kids living in single parent households are disproportionately overrepresented in urban areas already super saturated with poverty and drug culture. i.e. the ghettos. It's also entirely likely that the drug problem is exacerbating the unstable family/single parent issue. Lots of mothers and fathers are in prison for committing various drug crimes. Plenty of moms and dads are dead one way or the other because of the drug problem too. Where does that leave junior? bloods or crips?

What's worse, this drug problem is spilling out of the ghettos and into the suburbs. The problem is increasingly not contained. I work in an ER on the outskirts of a large city. A day doesn't go by that some young white guy or girl doesn't come in overdosed on heroin. Sometimes the Narcan fixes them in time, sometimes it doesn't. The last time it didn't, both the guys white parents stood at his bedside crying together. He was 20 something. Not sure if he left any kids behind. The drug problem is real and it fuels the urban crime problem. I see it every day. You aren't going to convince me that being raised by one parent is a bigger problem than drugs. period.
