I often wonder how much damage that character did. Instead of using him as a goof and setting the ferals to mocking him, they could have made him a success story and cool for it. Might have been a far better plan. Instead, the idiot rapper and his even bigger idiot buddy got the kudos.

Yea Smith was funny. And he is good as a rapper such as ‘good’ is there. But we all know that shoes like that and Cosby were pure social engineering.

The lead character was a hood rat thrown into a less toxic inviroment. His friend had to be a polar opposite for the schtick to work. Also, it wouldn’t fit the agenda if a black guy who was “acting white” actually got ahead.
