Above is a link to the WWII+70 years thread. On page 10 it talks about Patton’s visit to the Whitehouse. “Patton Invades Whitehouse” (Oh to see that headline today!).
A reporter asked him where his two revolvers were.
Patton replied something like “On duty I only wore one, except for one landing where I wore two.”
When asked about the pearl handled “automatic” pistol (I’m guessing a 1911?) he was seen wearing in Boston, Patton replied - “Oh - that was my social gun.”
Patton carried a Remington Model 1934 .380 under his jacket. In the movie he shoots at the German bomber strafing his HQ with this gun.
He also had an issue Colt 1903 .32 general’s model with four stars on each grip panel.
