There has been a lot of discussion and confusion about TPA, especially since it has been voted on in Congress. What I have found from research is that what changes there have been to TPA since the 2002 version have been positive changes that strengthen human rights and protect our national sovereignty and laws.
I have attached some comparison charts that I hope will prove useful to those who would like to look more carefully at what this law does and does not do.
Should have read PREVIOUS versions. sorry.
That is not what I asked.
Have you read the secret bill in the secret room?
Yes or no.
First, Obama and the anti-American RINOs mislabel
everything (e.g. ‘Affordable Care Act’, indeed)
and mix everything up (see the Wikileaks info above).
Second, you either mistaken or an abject liar
to purport nothing is SECRET in this.
This is another Atrocity — like ObamaCARE — which is
endorsed by the GOP (wink, wink), and made
on the SECRET (”we’ll find out what is in it,
after we ‘pass’ it (and make ourselves EXEMPT)”).
You do understand that TPA has never been secret and can be read in its entirety by anyone? The TPP is a trade deal that is still being negotiated and has never come up for vote. When it is complete, it will be made public for 60 days before it is voted on.
It is the norm for trade deals not to be disclosed, especially when multiple countries are involved, until agreement is reached. Cruz has called for this to be made public now. It is completely unfair for him to be excoriated because it has not been. That is not something he controls.
No, but Cruz has. It has not been finalized, but when it is , he will go over it with a fine tooth comb before it is voted on.
“fine tooth comb”?
He did not read the HIDDEN, SECRET, Agreement (Treaty).
I heard Toast Cruz say that.
Then, I heard him say he did not read the footnotes.
Now, you say Toast will use a fine tooth comb.
Is Toast Cruz an American?
Not by his actions on this.
So has Jess Sessions.
Jeff Sessions
“A lot of people, even FReepers, dont know that theyre lumping the two together as if they were the same thing.”
A lot of people, even FReepers, don’t care that they’re lumping the two together. To them, any attempt to liberalize trade, lower tariffs, and remove other barriers to trade must be defeated. The Buchanan Brigades are still around.
He said he read it, but had not thoroughly gone through all the footnotes. Why would he when it has not been completed?
He will exam it thoroughly in its final form.
At that time, it will be made public for 60 days before a vote and we will expect your thorough analysis of each paragraph and footnote.
Cruz has done more to defend the Constitution and the sovereignty of this country than any other member of Congress. He has won many landmark Supreme Court decisions doing just that. One thing is for sure, he has certainly done a lot more in that area than any critic on this site who is trashing him without reason.
And those that think like you want to give more power to a President
who hates this country.
If it is such a good deal, let’s see the secret bill in the secret room.
Yes, Jeff Sessions did. HE voted against the 2002 TPA Bill, also. The world didn’t end under that TPA either and this one is a better bill.
Jeff Sessions is an honorable man who is simply wrong on this issue. He is the second person in 48 years to not be confirmed for the Federal District Court. When legal minds collide, Cruz has the far superior credentials.
Maybe you should spend your time lobbying the 100 democrats who did
not vote for this bill. Those of us here have no vote.
If we had a trustworthy President, I might agree with you.
But we have a President who hates this country.
And the GOP has a history of rolling over and enabling this President
who hates this country. That is a fact.
Cruz has repeatedly said he doesn’t trust Obama.
Here is what I think may be going on with this. History has shown that when Democrats control either house, and they may win back the Senate in 2016, they will not give TPA to a Republican President. By securing it now, a Republican will have it for almost 5 years.
I think TPP will be defeated and TPA will be there for the next President, who I hope is Cruz. There is no way that TPP is going to pass if it is not a good bill. This TPA puts far more restrictions on any deal, than previous TPA’s have, and nobody trusts Obama.
The attacks by you and Cruz on Jeff Sessions
is more than disgusting.
“Maybe you should spend your time lobbying the 100 democrats who did
not vote for this bill. Those of us here have no vote.”
Think about this, when was the last time Democrats voted on the right side of any issue?
For the Love of Pete! A disagreement on an issue is not an attack. Cruz has never been anything but a gentleman.
You hate Cruz and don’t mind trashing a good man. We get it.
What Republican voted for Obamacare? NONE!
Are you incapable of grasping the fact that TPA, a renewal of past TPA bills, is completely separate from the TPP trade deal that is still being negotiated?
At least get your facts straight before you blast someone for their vote. From your posts, you seem clueless.
