My point was not about the merits of the TPA. I just wanted to quiet some of the mis/un-informed on here who kept going on and on about Cruz voting for a secret trade bill. Everyone can read for themselves what is in the TPA and can make up their own mind about they support it.
There was just too much dishonest b/s flying around.

The TPA will LOWER THE STANDARDS to pass Trade agreements, agreements, etc from 2/3rds to 51%. The Establishment knows they cannot get 2/3rds to agree on a Trade agreement and that is why they (Obama, Boehner, McConnell and Cruz) want to LOWER THE STANDARDS to pass Obama Trade that George Washington put in over 200 years ago.
Again the new trade agreements will INCLUDED CLIMATE CHANGE TAXES via the BACK DOOR Trade DEAL. That's how about Obama gets everything. Ditto with gun bans and free speech.

Not true. Obama wants illegals to be issued work authorizations so that they can get IDs and Drivers Licenses, so that they can be registered to vote and be voted democrat.
Wide open borders does not automatically translate to the above.

It also allowed Unions to get kick backs. Cruz was right.

I don’t support the TPP, but I think giving any president the right to negotiate whatever treaty they want is Constitutional AND traditional.
The Treaty, when finalized has to go before the Senate. It would have been a simple up or down vote with the TPA. I am not so sure he would have been able to garner that support,.
This President is a lame duck and the Senate is not going to kowtow to him any more (as if they ever really did.)
Personally, I think that the Congress has been injecting themselves into foreign affairs way too much. DO NOT come back at me as if I am supporting the President’s recent roll.
I am a traditionalist that feels that overseas issues are best dealt with by the Sec. State and the Executive.
Personally, I think the Congress should be working on a budget that cuts spending. That is what they SHOULD focus on. Conservatives get all worked up about the deficit and the debt, but it doesn’t seem like they understand all of this starts in the Republican House.
Let the President veto some spending bills and shut down the government.
Wasting time playing games does no one any good.
It is my understanding that the TPA type streamline for trade agreements making them directed by Congressional guidelines and then negotiated by the executive with a resulting need for only a 51 percent majority instead of a 2/3rds like a treaty has been the standard for some decades. This TPA is a renewal of a previous procedure.
It does take our eye off the ball however.
He has it posted as a service to his constituents. This is not a secret trade deal. It is neither secret not a trade bill. It has been posted online since at least May 12,2015.
