You are right. There are two different issues here. The Duggars and what they did or did not do is just one of the issues. The abuse of power by the police chief is another. She should be charged.

I don't watch reality shows, I didn't know much of anything about the Duggars before all of this came out, but have read the articles and saw the interviews; it was pretty hard to miss it all.
This has ALWAYS looked like some kind of "hit piece" to me and a "personal", agenda driven one. Why dredge all of this up now? WELL, NOW WE KNOW !
She should be charged, but won’t be. She is retiring anyway so there is no threat of being fired and will all be ignored. She knew exactly how to hurt them and get away with it.
Thank you for posting this and I too, believe this is exactly what happened. I caught JimBob’s comment about the police chief retiring and her snarky comments. Was it in the interview or did I also read that the same chief has been nothing but rude to Josh; ignoring his presence when he has extended greetings toward her?

The why’s of this coming out is half the equation. The other side is the somewhat important fact that Josh Duggar did everything he is accused of doing. They couldn’t have leaked anything that didn’t happen.
I don’t get that. Loved the show and don’t care if they have 50 kids, they run a tight ship. What a 14 year old did should not have been revealed, really against the law.
Churches/Christian are told to deal with sin in a loving, firm manner and to not settle disputes in secular courts. They did that and now the world and many fellow Christians condemn them for it.

And like I said before, this was NOT a secret. People in Springdale knew this had happened.
It took the Duggars messing with Fayetteville’s trans gender ordinance to spark enough hatred toward them for it to come out.
The family handled it, the parents did far more about it than many do ( taking him and the victims to the police, got them all counseling, etc. ) and yet, some here still demand "a pound of flesh" and more!
Lena's parents knew what she did to her sister ( far worse things ! ) and did NOTHING and instead,she is praised.

I pray the victims are shielded by the likes of you! It is a cruelty these girls had to endure molestation in the first place, had to be a nightmare. Were they my children I would shield them. But assuming what you actually meant to say was they should be shielded from the likes of me then I suggest they should have been shielded from the likes of their brother a lot earlier.
