The secret of a long and happy life is to learn to enjoy simple pleasures. To take joy in small things.
If the only thing that will make you happy is to win the lottery, then you will never be happy, even if you win the lottery.
Is that a difficult concept? By the time you find your life-long dream, you will have suffered so many disappointments that the reward is completely dwarfed by the cost of payment.
Instead, gather joy in tiny blessings, which are easy to find if you look for them. If you can find joy this way, you can find joy every day. By the time you decide to look around to assess your life, you will realize that by having been blessed every day with tiny joys and delights, your bucket may be empty but your cup runneth over!
Take joy in tiny blessings. My needs are simple and my wants are few:
I Only Want
I only want a million days,
To loll around and squander,
And idly, in a drunkards path,
About the hills to wander.
A million days of sunrise,
Begetting jeweled morn,
And sultry softened afternoons,
With rain no hint to warn.
The rain may fall in eventide,
To lull a resting soul,
As smiling for the joy of life,
Relinquishes control.
Such perfect days are metered,
We get so very few,
A million such seem adequate,
If one has aught to do.
Id intersperse them with a touch,
Of raw days and of storm,
Which wouldnt count among the list,
Just give excuse to warm,
While waiting out the frozen count,
Of days on which I feed,
Before the fire of stored delight,
Preserved for such a need.

So you're saying that 2 legs, 2 thighs, and a half a breast is too much? Because I can go around the corner to Popyeye's and they don't seem to think it's a big deal.
Maybe I'm missing something.
