The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line
A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.
San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.
Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.
Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.
Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.
"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.
This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.
If you can’t tolerate Ensure, you might want to try Bolthouse Farms Chocolate Protein Plus.
A few years ago my wife had a major operation to stop severe acid reflux. She ended up with a stomach several times smaller, and she couldn’t gain weight nor maintain weight.
She tried Ensure and other protein plus drinks and couldn’t tolerate the bad taste.
Our pharmacist, friend for decades, said all of those products taste terrible, and he recommended the Bolthouse Chocolate Protein Plus.
She loved it and drank about a quart a day at first to regain weight and muscle.
After a couple of months she drinks two 8 ounce servings a day. She has maintained her weight and is strong as before the serious reflux and operation. She mixes it with her morning coffee. Half coffee and half/ 4 ounces of the Bolthouse. She drinks the second 8 ounces in the evening before or after dinner.
This protein drink can be bought at Walmart in their refrigerator cold drink section and at Target and Safeway.
Walmart’s price is at least 1/3 less than other places.
Cool! Athletic Kitty is astounding strangers and friends!
Elizabeth Warren?
Thanks, Grampa. I have had Bolt House farms chocolate/coffee/mocha drink and I really love it.
I think I will take this stuff up to the community room, a few bottles at a time, (folks here are VERY greedy) and let someone else have it.
Ever since it came out as “Carnation Instant Breakfast,” I have used the drink (now “Carnation Breakfast Essentials”) for times when I wanted to gain weight and now when I want to lose some. It now comes in a 22-pack box, so I’m happy!
Bolt House seems to be always adding products.
Patrick reminded me that I hadn't moved Fluffy to the new thread yet.
Break out the fishies!
Remind Fluffy to be careful around the plesiosaurs. They might not know quite what to make of him. I know for sure they will not want a dance instructor.
They’re confused by him. He doesn’t resemble their typical prey.
Lol! fauxcahontas indeed.
Levitation Kitty!
I am on the home stretch on my story, I passed 33k words and this will definitely be over 40k when its done (40k is when it can officially be called a novel)
Then it’s time for the re-write, proofreading, beta-readers, more corrections, doing the cover right....
Should be on Amazon by the end of June, IMO
Good job!
Awwww...where have you been, Fluffy?
Great news! <3
It’s 83 degrees and 44% and the A/C was cycling most of the night, even though the thermostat is set at 85.
I had night sweats and was chilled by turns. Yay, monsoons. Or is that “Yay, CFIDS?”
There is no reason for me to be up so early. There isn’t enough to fill my days as it is. I really don’t need extra hours to deal with.
Supposed to be in the 90s here today. We’re leaving for the gym soon.
If every hour is a gift, can I return the 8 I spent at work yesterday?
Not to mention the 2 I spent moving the car from one side of the street to the other.
I have to wait until almost 0800 to go get my x-rays. I don’t even dare walk today because of the humidity. I would be laid up for a week.
The pharmacist said the BP med would make me lose water and told me to eat a banana or drink orange juice for the potassium. I told him I don’t retain water and I take potassium pills. He looked at me like I was an escapee from the mental hospital.
If this one is like the last one, I will be throwing it out within a week.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could exchange our yesterdays for a fresh start? Wait. We already are...it’s called Tomorrow! What a concept!
Of course there have been times when I have just wanted to erase the entire day or sometimes, week.
Well, I've been blessed with a very patient wife I'm not looking to trad in, but there are some days in the books I can do without. Then again, who knows how different today would be if I unwrote one line from yesterday.
