Posting threads here is like writing an editorial to my local newspaper. Sometimes they print it. Sometimes they don't.

I don't take it personal when they don't.

Nor do I take it personal when FR deems it appropriate to remove something I stick up on here. And I don't need any long-winded explanation or justification.

I realize sometimes I'll inadvertently run afoul of copyrights or it was posted elsewhere or maybe it's just that my prose is deemed just too silly or trivial to be allowed to remain. It happens.

In those cases, I'd rather not know the reason and delude myself into thinking that what I wrote was absolutely brilliant, but for some complicated legal reason, the FR people had to pull it down.

The problem with simply pulling it: unless the original poster bookmarks the URL, they have no way to know why it was deleted.

That makes it difficult to avoid repeating the error in the future.

“I don’t take it personal when they don’t.”

Not about personal, it’s about knowing where the thread went & why. I had to dig pretty hard to find that my latest was killed because of a typo in the article URL.
