Talked to a fellow I know in Reno over the weekend. He’s been at the top of their county SWAT for 20 years. Says due to new tech perps have, they find themselves at greater distances and have both 50 and 416 Barretts for the tasks.
No such thing as can't miss bullets, or can't miss sights. Either the shooter is good, bad, lucky, or unlucky. Few shooters are good at sniping distances. SWAT needs a .50 BMG less than they need MRAPS.
The citizens won’t be controlled better by government snipers. Hell, they won’t control the border against terrorists or violent gangs. The government now wants to control freedom lovers. They have 50 BMG and 416 Barretts pointed at us.
I don’t know how many privately owned .50 caliber rifles there are in Washoe County but I would guess the number run over 100. I personally have seen about 40 of them at one time out at the range on Pyramid Highway.
