it is impossible for someone to be born of a foreign national parent, on foreign soil, and still be a natural born citizen. they may claim US citizenship by the single US parent, but not NATURAL BORN citizenship.
title 8 section 1401 deals with citizenship at birth, not natural born status. a citizen at birth is not the same as being a 'natural born' citizen. it has nothing to do with the act of being born, but the circumstance of the birth.
put simply:
a natural born citizen is a citizen naturally... as there are no alternatives.
at birth, TCruz was a US, canadian, cuban citizen and possibly a british subject, depending on the common wealth laws at the time. obviously, he had a few alternatives (one of which, canadian, he relinquished last year)

C’mon, MrEdd. Perry was elected to 3 full 4-year terms, and spent a total of 14 years as governor. Perry decided not to run for a 4th full term despite being ahead in the polls.

I am NOT a Perry supporter (though I was for a while in 2011) and I do not believe his candidacy for 2016 is going anywhere.

actually, no. the gop didn't touch the issue. hell, they wouldn't mention his middle name. it was hillary's lawyer, philip berg, that tried to get the matter before a judge. the judge tossed the case saying berg had no standing to question it.
and that has been the response in over 26 different cases across the country. not one case has proceeded to the point of being heard.
know why?
because, to be heard by the judge... evidence must be submitted. including the infamous birth certificate. if that happened... 0bama would be putting forward that document as authentic in an official capacity... which he has NEVER been done. as it's an obvious forgery, he'd be immediately charged with felony forgery and impeached (congress would have no choice... follow the law or face a Constitutional crisis)

I don’t understand how anyone can vote for free trade when all that is necessary is to look around and notice that hardly anything is manufactured in the USA and 93 million Americans are out of work. However, according to the outrageous constraints placed on the senators by OBAMA to just read the damn SECRET bill, what Senator Sessions has reported about the bill (that he read) and is calling for it to be made public, you can bet that he is NOT spreading misinformation about the bill. What he says is horrifying; it is the beginning of the end, without hyperbole. Cruz is supporting the Obama agenda and trying to claim he is only voting for free trade. I have been pleading for days, can anyone who claims Cruz is the only true conservative, please justify Cruz supporting the Obama agenda (trade bill, Iran bill) and make believers out of a lot of us.

Cruz’s wife was a member of the CFR, a global governance organization. The CFR doesn’t deal with outsiders. Cruz voted for Obama’s SECRET free trade bill, which encompasses global governance (as per Senator Sessions). You notice I have to quote Senator Sessions because the freaking bill is kept SECRET. However, I trust Senator Sessions.

The Constitution is not amended by judicial precedence. It takes Congress and the states. The Constitution mandates in the qualification clause for a president that he be 35 years old and a native born citizen. That is the only time the term “native born” occurs in the Constitution. Since every word in the Constitution was carefully weighed, it has significance. When I was in high school, and it was before this ever came up, the answer to the test question was that that meant that both parents had to be citizens at the time of birth. Obviously, by logic, the particular place is not a determining factor.
