After the discussions we have had on this thread, I had to stop and do a hobby store while my wife is shopping… I saw a boatload of model brands and types I’ve never seen before…looks like a brave new world out there for model builders!

It is. Much more so than when I was a kid and Revel dominated the market. Monogram was ok but their plastic was often brittle and delicate parts broke easily. Overall I find that Tamiya is the best. They’ve learned over the years to soften their plastic just a little and that makes a big difference. I’d like to learn to airbrush models but that is a very difficult process to master.
