You are being disingenuous but I think you know that. What Ms. Fiorina, along with many others, is objecting to is that we are being told to wait to read what is in the TPP even though the Obama administration already knows what is in it.
There is no reason why the complete text of the TPP shouldn't be disclosed now so that everyone can read it. I'm sure your response will be something along the lines of how if we are patient we can read it later, but that will just go to show that you are not really arguing the point in good faith. Having said that, I will happily withdraw my accusation of a lack of good faith on your part if you can come up with a good reason for why we can't read the fine print of the TPP now.
Have you read the TPA bill I linked to?
Presuming TPA is approved, you and Carly will have 60 days to read to your heart’s content.
No, I’m not being disingenuous. Carly has no sway with Congress and she knows that. She is expressing her opinion based on what information she does have, which likely is not very much.
Does Carly realize she will have a whopping 60 days to pour over any trade deal that comes down the pike with passage of TPA?
Still waiting for a good reason for why the text of the TPP agreement can’t be disclosed now.
You sound like a robot
No fast track has ever been defeated on the second vote ever, because nays can be portrayed as spoil sports who already had their shot at defeating it.
No ammendments can be offered and it is simple majority in the Senate with no fillibuster.
Cruz supports it for the same reason he wants to vastly expand H1B.
Because now is the time amendments can be added. They can’t on the second vote
Face it, Cruz is another phoney globalist in action if not word.
Frankly, this two-step process is one that is intended to confuse. Give the President the authority to make a trade pact and set the rules for reviewing and approving any agreement reached after the authorization is legitimized by the TPA.
No amendments - up or down vote, yes or no - end of discussion. During this period Democrats, RINOs and the President will vilify anyone who DARES to suggest the deal is bad in any manner.
Oh, you’ll have 60 days to review it. An uneditable potential obituary on whatever part of America Obama is now wanting to squander away. You can review it, though. Just not right now - because you have to pass the TPA so you won’t have any chance to alter the TPP they’re keeping hidden in some basement until you pass the TPA.
There’s not one Senator who would vote for a law that binds all future laws to these same conditions pf passage but it is okay to do it just this one time for a maniac President and his ‘agreements’? Not no, but hell no.
I just listened to Cruz addressing TPP. He has read it in its entirely and says it should have already been released to the public and should be released immediately.
