Well, and being government, they should never be viewed with trust. That’s not what government is for. Maybe not outright active hostile suspicion 24/7, but continual vigilance, where the burden is on THEM to prove that whatever power they want, couldn’t be used to infringe on the rights of those who pay their salary by creating actual wealth rather than regulating.
