A group of Albuquerque bikers came to 5-year-old Albuquerque girls rescue this week.
The girl who was bullied on her way home from school got an unexpected visit by the Punishers. Theyre loud, big, burly bikers dressed in black. While the men may appear dark and dangerous, the Punishers, a law enforcement motorcycle club in Albuquerque are far from it.
We are all pretty soft hearted. Im actually a nurse, said Punishers LE/MC Albuquerque President Norman Gonzalez.
This week the group, made up of military veterans and former police officers, banded together with local self-defense group Shockwave to help a local girl in desperate need.
We were asked to talk to a young lady who was a victim of bullying, said Punishers member Aaron Holmes.
The victim is just 5-years-old and suffers from a mental disability. The girls family, who asked KRQE News 13 not to name her, said she was walking home from school this week when some neighborhood kids jumped her and beat her up.
When the Punishers got wind of the story they immediately jumped into help.
We rounded up all the bikes and we rode over to the little girls house and said hi, said Holmes.
When she walked out she was kind of wide eyed, said Gonzalez.
The biker group said once the girl warmed up to them they formed a special bond.
We told her that we are always there for her no matter what, said Gonzalez.
Gonzalez said they left her with a strong message to always stand up for yourself and in turn the men left feeling proud.
Emotionally, it was a good feeling, he said.
The Punishers are a national organization focused on helping people in the community.
The group in Albuquerque also sponsors a little league team.
Sounds like he got the point.
Why not ride to the abusers’ houses? Just sit out front and rev their engines for awhile.
Biker scum! /s
Sometimes parents should pick their kids up from school when bullies attack them as they walk home. The bullies need to be punished by their parents.
When I was in the seventh grade and just moved to the DC area, there were “gangs” of girls and boys who bullied other kids.
I was taller than anyone (I hated that) and knew how to fight (thanks, dad) and one day one of the bullies grabbed a girl from her wheelchair and hit her right in front of me. I hurt the bully pretty badly and got suspended for overkill (broken nose), so to speak. Mom was upset that I broke the girl’s nose while dad was glad that what he taught me to do to the face worked. Both were glad I protected the handicapped kid.
I have a short trigger temper when comes to danger which is dangerous to me in itself. You don’t. There is good news and bad news in both ways of being. I am sure you have made up for that failure to act in many ways. It was a learning experience for you on when and how to use the power of your young male body and mind. Males have to learn this. Forgive yourself! - pray for the bully and the person he harmed.
I do remember once they went to a local farmer and offered to buy a hog for some price they had determined was fair... but way less than the hog was worth. The farmer declined and they told him he could sell it or they would steal it. He took the money. So not really the sort of guys you would be proud to hang around with.
