MOSS POINT, Mississippi -- A 19-year-old D'Iberville man was arrested Friday night after he attempted to elude Jackson County deputies by stealing and fleeing in a patrol car.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell, deputies responded to a domestic dispute call in the 7300 block of Big Point Road in Moss Point Friday night around 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies learned the dispute was between a father and his son, Chance Alexander Dearman. When confronted by the deputies, Dearman became agitated and attempted to flee on foot.
A JCSO 2013 Dodge Charger patrol car was nearby, with the motor running, but locked. As Dearman and a pursing deputy neared the car, the vehicle's remote unlocked the vehicle and Dearman was able to jump in and leave the scene.

Stupid is as stupid does. I bet it runs in the family.
What was a young white boy from D’Iberville doing in Moss Point?
He could have just blended into the traffic. I wonder how they spotted him?
2DV, Mister DIberville surely hails from a family with long and distinguished ties to the Gulf, when they were business partners with one Jean Lafitte, who is unfairly characterized as a “pirate”.
As you can see young Mister DIberville was merely engaging in the sort of commerce his forebears practiced. I think he’s a natural, except for the getting caught part.
I actually know someone that did, he drove it to the Police Station a few blocks away, parked it then locked the keys inside and ran back to where his friends and the Policeman were.
Then years later he actually told the Officer he was the one that did it and got a belly laugh out of the cop.
TT
He was thinking it looked like so much fun in The Hangover.
Bob Dylan?
addendum
His mother found out about it the same time the Officer did, She did not laugh.
TT
“... she did not laugh”.
Moms seldom do when they find out about their kid’s shenanigans. :)
Interesting vehicle remote—apparently doesn’t require human input .
Looks like he could be son of History Channel’s “UFO Guy.”
If you are going to get arrested, make it memorable. A story for the grand kids.
One of many reasons that a smart key is not so smart. It unlocked the car as the officer got close to it. If it wasn’t running and the key holder got real close it would start too.
As you know, 2ndDivisionVet, here in South Mississippi, we can't possibly imagine--not even a little bit. But, I'll make a wild guess that it's democrats.
The Bob Dylan look isn’t working for you boy.
