Since last week's mfasa was the first talking picture version of Mark Twain's classic novel, I thought I'd follow up with the first Technicolor version. It's my personal favorite version of the beloved slice of Americana.

Indeed. David Holt(the actor who played him) gave a great performance as the whiny tattletale little brother.

Love his performance. The real Sid (Twain’s brother), unfortunately, died in a terrible steamboat accident.

What happens if I confess to not liking this when I saw it on TV probably in the early 60s. I remember that the adults thought should like it, but I didn’t. At age 9 or 10, I remember wondering if there was something wrong with me.

(Perhaps instant karma's going to get you. Perhaps not.)
To: duckworth
Was it this particular version you did not like or the Tom Sawyer novel in general?
