They made Superman a Global citizen so why not? The faster they collapse the industry the faster it will return to it’s original concepts and characters as they were intended.
It’d be like a white guy playing Mr T. Not going to work. At all.
The Human Torch has already been rebooted several times. The first one was NOT part of the Fantastic Four and was in fact an android. This ain’t Clark Kent or Peter Parker.
Good grief. I’m a huge comic book fan and have enjoyed most of the Marvel super hero movies. But making Johnny Storm black was really a dumb decision. Most people are fed up with forced political correction. To be preached at by the token Negro in this movie is not helpful. This movie’s gonna bomb.
Sounds like a massive fail waiting to happen in my opinion.
Well, that does it. I’ll never watch this movie.
Oh wait, I wasn’t going to anyway.
what was wrong with the one guy they had playing him? That was a great role. Te dynamic between him and the rock guy was great.
It’d be better if he started off white, then was black after his first encounter with his new power.
They still can’t get the look of “The Thing” right. They were closer with the previous incarnation. The sooner Sony loses the rights to this, the better. (Heck, even the Corman version is closer to the comic than this version).
However, I don’t think they should make any more FF standalone films. They need to be like cameo characters in Avengers or something.
Why does everyone hate the 2005 F4? It kicked ass! And it made Chris Evans a star.
It is entertainment for kids. Society will survive.
If you disagree, what exactly about the character needs to be white?
i actively avoid obvious propaganda
i’ll be skipping this one
Loved Michael B. Jordan in the Friday Night Lights TV show.
Hollywood has changed the ethnicity of Perry White (Superman), James Olsen (Supergirl), Pete Ross (Smallville), Iris West (Flash), and now this. It’s an insult to the creators of the characters. If this is going to be the trend in Hollywood; I expect to see Tommy Lee Jones to play the lead in the next biography of Martin Luther King. Is there a problem with creating NEW black characters for these films???
I just wish they’d quit remaking movies...
What he looks like doesn’t change the character as long as he is brash, hot tempered and good looking enough to be a believable ladies man. If they make him a nerdy glasses wearing geek it wouldn’t matter if he were blond haired and blue eyed because his character would be different.
The idea that we have to have a black guy or girl in every movie as a nod to political correctness, that’s annoying.
Like making Rosa Parks a White woman....
And when I was reading the ORIGINAL Fantastic Four Comic books back in 1962-65, the Human Torch and the Invisible Woman, Johnny and Susan Storm were brother and sister. I’m guessing they have dropped that ‘tidbit’ from this movie.
