It was clarified that an individual from the Duggar’s church found a note detailing the molestations in a book he/she had borrowed from the Duggar dad and sent it to the Oprah show who then turned it over to the local police.
That is a very interesting side-story that should be investigated. Instead of turning over the info to the local police(for the sake of the “children”) after consulting the church they were in, he/she tried to create a national embarrassment for the family back in 2006 by sending it to the Oprah show instead. Perhaps someone who was jealous or perhaps wanted some of piece of the Duggar action(the role of snake in the Duggar garden was played by jealous and spiteful fellow church member). I’ll bet that person today feels all pseudo pious to anyone he\she can get to listen to the tale about they “busted” the Duggars...though it may have taken 9 years for the full effect to have happened.
Well the story says the cops did investigate in 2006 but the statute of limitations had passed and that there was no evidence that the behavior continued. The persons involved received counselling and the Judge destroyed records of the incident because one of the minors involved, who apparently was still a minor was afraid her name would get out.
The man was 17 in 2006, had made mistakes , had learned from them and was leading an exemplary life from all accounts and had been up to now.
Freepers often complain about kids as young as 6, 8, 10,12, being put on sexual predator lists. Situations often arise in families that a bit of the thunder of Father and Mom often stops bad behaviors from becoming chronic and then life long malfunctioning mental and behavioral issues. Sometimes it involves their kids “touching each other” even into their young teens. This young man seems to have been reached in time, but now he’ll have bare a heavier cross for a while. He is in “Jim Bakker” territory now and will have to live it down a long time!
Now why and who exposed the story, now at this point is a very interesting question. Was someone thinking about running for office? It has politics and dirty smear tricks written all over this!(the same person who sent Oprah the info back in 2006 perhaps? One of the victims still angry and vengeful?)
Are you ever going to stop wailing about the cross Josh will have to bear and throw in a few words of concern about the victims?
Still, I go back to - what would be the reaction if a stranger did this, multiple times, to these little girls? Say a neighbor boy, or a friend of a Duggar kid? That would have probably been reported to protect the girls and seek genuine counseling for the boy. Why should the brother not undergo the same scrutiny we would expect of a non-relative? Sadly, the judge just now destroyed the police record for the sake of the victims. Too late, once on the Internet, always on the Internet. I think the Duggars will eventually get past this. Maybe a little much hubris was displayed on the part of some of them. Maybe Josh should have stuck with selling cars...
