Education Secretary Arne Duncan on Tuesday proposed the idea of public boarding schools, saying there are “just certain kids we should have 24/7.”
“One idea that I threw out … is the idea of public boarding schools,” Duncan said at the National Summit on Youth Violence Prevention in Crystal City, Va. “That’s a little bit of a different idea—a controversial idea—but the question is do we have some children where there’s not a mom, there’s not a dad, there’s not a grandma, there’s just nobody at home? There’s just certain kids we should have 24/7 to really create a safe environment and give them a chance to be successful.” […]
“I think all of our schools should be community centers,” Duncan said. “Our schools should be open 12, 13, 14 hours a day with a wide variety of after-school programming. Thankfully, in the vast, vast majority of communities around the nation, our schools are actually safe havens. … [There’s] very little violence happening in schools. My proposal is to ONLY remove children from parents who cannot or will not support them. And to reallocate the Welfare budget to that purpose.

The school environment is a highly regimented and regulated space run by iron fisted dictactors. If we “can keep them there longer,” say full time, then we might as well just name them prisons.
That is the actual dream of tyrants such as this education secratary, he simply wants to rule over those lesser than he!
There are **private** summer camps across the nation that, with a few upgrades, could easily become full-time **private** boarding schools for $30,000/year/kid.
It isn’t because the child is still on the streets and still in a typical inner city school.
And....It is enormously expensive now for a child in an inner city to attend a typical dangerous government schools. It is nearly $30,000/year/child.
There are **private** summer camps all over this nation that, with a few upgrades, could easily become **privately** owned and run boarding schools. And...They are already very experienced in handling children.

I absolutely would **not*** support government owned and run boarding schools.
I’m not a big fan of Glenn Beck, but....he did try to warn us about Arne and these things happening under his being Secy of Ed.
Wow...that is more expensive than a lot of colleges!

It is the goal of leftists to abolish “parents” and “families” which deep down, they think are the root of all evil.
Of course, if you spoke to most of them, they love their own family and themselves as parents, but...not a concept for the little folk.
But don’t you see? The progressive plan is the same—except to declare all families incapable of adequately raising their children.
