A hammer-wielding man needed to be rescued by firefighters and police on Friday evening after he climbed up onto a basketball hoop at a Seattle-area park and somehow got stuck upside down, according to a report.
Hanging by a foot, the shirtless man was flailing and thrashing about as about a dozen officers stood around the court, apparently trying to figure out how to get him down, video from CNN affiliate KOMO showed.

I suspect they knew how to get him down but chose not to for a bit, maybe they just had to quit laughing before they made an attempt.
Dialogue heard among people standing and watching the bizzare spectacle, “Is that your father stuck in that hoop? No, never saw him before. That IS your dad! Did he eat too many brownies again?
Too busy laughing, I suspect, at the suspect.
Then he should run for mayor, then, or city council.
In the video he appears to be fighting the cops when they do pretty much what you suggested. Should have left him there.
Nothing.
No shirt, wielding a hammer, and stuck upside down on a basketball hoop - any bets on whether booze or drugs were involved? As my wife would say, “I bet I know how he votes”...
Just how many cops does it take?
This is proof that white guys have no business on a basketball court.
