Weird things happen in Florida.
But this bizarre incident at Amalie Arena can't be blamed on local residents.
As the Tampa Bay Lightning hosted the Detroit Red Wings Wednesday night for a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Game 7 crowd passed a massive Lightning flag around the arena.
That's when a Detroit-area woman no doubt a Wings fan allegedly held up a lighter in an attempt to set fire to the big banner as it passed over close to 200 people.
She caused a small burn on the flag, but didn't manage to set the entire thing ablaze, according to Tampa cops.
Lena Sinishtaj, 35, was taken into custody on a charge of first-degree arson of an occupied structure, the Tampa Tribune reported Thursday morning.
The Bolts later burned the Wings 2-0 to claim a decisive Game 7 win.
They'll meet the Montreal Canadiens in the second round.

(But the verdict could be changed after several beers.)
Give her a break...she’s from “Hockeytown” dontcha know!
After 17 beers, she probably just thought she was calling Bruce Springsteen out for an encore.
Damn and I thought the Boston Bruins fans were bad at TD Garden.
Well, my fearless prediction of Lightning in 5 was only two games off...Montreal, vous êtes à côté...
Montreal, vous êtes à côté...
Si.
A little Spanish lingo there.

The Canadiens are lucky they’re in the playoffs; I don’t see the Lightning having much trouble there, unless they slack off because they think they can.
Division finals are another story; the Bolts will have to step it up even more than they’ve shone, to make it in the Cup finals, and they’re still a young team to do that.
She should wear a mask when she plays goalie.
Yep. Don't know where to put that, in the plus or minus column?

Plus for stamina, minus for handling the pressure
I saw that before. That could have started a real war!
“Old time hockey! Eddie Shore! Toe Blake!”
Allez les Habs!
“The fans are standing up to them. The security guards are standing up to them. The peanut vendors are standing up to them. And by golly, if I could be down there, I’d be standing up to them.”
This should be good...

They should win. I’d like to see Habs/Rangers rematch but after last night it may well be Habs/Caps!
