Same here. I had a Sergeant Major that looked like “Mr. Clean” and he was pretty awesome.

Chiseled in tan. And very very buff.

I was a 1972 boot.. Almost every NCO and the SGT Major was smaller than me.. But they all had a gristled, dark tan, every one was an Nam vet, and the presence just spoke.. Respect.
