“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the luminous Alberta Watson. Alberta died in the arms of her beloved [husband] Ken on Saturday March 21st at Kensington Hospice after a long and incredibly courageous battle with cancer,” Watson’s agency said in a statement.

On the fourth season of 24 Watson played Erin Driscoll, the new director of the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit who fired Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).

RIP Alberta. Never watched the original series, but caught the mini-series, and enjoyed it.

Same here. I named my dog after Jack Bauer.

Did you think she was older or younger?

Ah yes, she was truly evil on that show. Believe it or not I just finished re-watching the entire series. La Femme Nikita and 24 are two of the best tv series ever in my book but I guess it helps that the main writers were the same for both series...

I believe she found the cancer during the series. Remember the season she came back with really short hair? I read once that was due to cancer treatments so she lived quite a while...considering...

Rest in peace...Alberta

I adored her as Madeleine in the La Femme Nikita series (the earlier ones). She could play “cool, ruthless and yet gorgeous” like no one else.

Hmmm..Yes...Thanks for reminding me (An 82-year-old's memory is sketchy sometimes)...Her character was truly evil and she was truly sexy...
