Thousands of Wal-Mart employees are fighting to get their jobs back after Wal-Mart suddenly closed five stores last week without warning.
The retailer said it closed the stores in California, Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida due to persistent plumbing issues that could take as long as six months to fix.
More than 2,200 workers were laid off as a result and given two months of severance pay.
But some critics are skeptical that Wal-Mart closed the stores because of plumbing issues.
Officials in the five cities where Wal-Mart closed stores claim the company hasn't sought permits for plumbing work, according to ABC News. Additionally, a Wal-Mart plumbing technician who worked at the now shuttered store in Brandon, Florida, told WFLA that even if the store is replacing its entire sewage line, the work shouldn't take as long as six months.
The UFCW a labor group representing Wal-Mart's laid off workers claims the company closed the stores in retaliation against workers organizing for better pay, which is something that Wal-Mart has been found guilty of doing in Canada.
The group has filed a claim with the National Labor Relations Board demanding that the company rehire the employees.
The UFCW isn't alone in its skepticism.
The closures have also fueled conspiracy theories that the US military is planning to enact martial law this summer under the guise of a Special Operations exercise called Jade Helm 15.
According to one popular theory, the military will use the shuttered Wal-Mart stores as "processing" facilities for Americans once martial law is hatched.

Glad I live out in the country. The gibsmedats will explode, though.
Show pictures from any stores Black Friday sales and I guarantee they all look the same. I remember the same crap at Kmarts and other retailers before Wal-Mart ever came to SoCal, the thing that is common to all of them...............people.
I had no idea that Wal-Mart had union employees.
If, at the end of two months, if they still have not been accepted at another store, then severance will take place, and each employee will receive one month of severance salary.
So, yeah, if Walmart was out to punish anyone, they pick a strange way to do it. It is as Walmart has stated; there are some serious plumbing issues in certain buildings built by a particular contractor and those stores need serious work to bring them up to local (and national) health code and quality. These are from shortcuts taken by the contractor in not putting in the right traps they should have done.
So every time you see someone whining on the news about this, please remember that they are earning just as much as they were when they worked at Walmart, they just don't have to do anything about it now.
NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU...some people learn that right away, to others, it takes a little longer....but the results are almost always predictable
There are some real loonies out amongst us, including those who visit this forum.
Processing Centers,,,
sounds a bit bizarre.
nO wE WoN’t!
If these were used as detention facilities as suggested, they would really have plumbing problems. There is no way the toilet facilities would be adequate.

Hilarious, close a Walmart in Pico Rivera CA to open a processing facility when 20 miles to the east you have millions of sq feet of distribution buildings empty with no tendants.
Port-a-potties in the garden section?
FReeper's are on a role.........
It doesn't.
The union claims to represent the newly-fired workers.
I heard Eric Holder is filing suit to stop this. Then President Obama will sign an executive order preventing any store from doing something similar.
