I suppose it’s more sanitary than making flesh contact with a public toilet seat. I would assume that the toilet had pre-existing fault for it to collapse like that.

I saw an experiment about what is nastiest in public restrooms, the toilets or the door handles. The door handles were nastier, by far. Very few microbes on the toilet seats themselves.
